Hoof Product FAQs

Hoof Hydrator

While Hoof Hydrator excels in dry conditions when hooves typically lose excess moisture, the natural sealing properties of the beeswax can make it excellent in wet conditions as well.

This is your maintenance balm - to keep hooves at their best while reducing severe moisture loss and saturation.

Typically, once to three times a week should be sufficient. After applying it watch to see how much is left on the hoof the next day. If you're seeing the hooves still appear 'sealed' then wait another day.

For drought conditions, apply every one to two days.

The balm naturally brings out the hoof's colour and makes for an excellent clear shine for the show ring for natural presentation.

Hoof care is multifaceted and a hoof typically takes between 9 to 12 months to grow which is how long results will take.

Check out our vet written article on hoof health to ensure you've checked all the boxes. Click here to read.

For a single horse we recommend starting with a small tin - or making the most of the Hoof Bundle or OG Bundle. A small tin will last one horse between 3 and 6 months with regular use.

For those with two or more horses we recommend jumping straight to our larger tin as this is the most economical option.

Hoof Hydrator is lick safe and yes, some horse at the first or second application find it quite... lickable!

Don't worry they soon lose interest.

Hoof Beehave

Hoof Beehave is typically used during wet conditions but may also be used to keep a crack or crevice hygienic as the new hoof grows down.

We recommend applying prior to wet weather events as well to act as a barrier.

Some users have cleared smelly hoof funk with Hoof Beehave in as little as 24 to 48 hours. Results are dependent on your situation and use of the product.

Always consult your veterinarian if you have concerns about your horse's hoof health.

Ideally, apply Hoof Beehave prior to wet weather to create a barrier between mud and the hoof. We understand that this is not always possible, so we recommend applying every 2 to 3 days during heavy wet weather events.

In the case of active smelly hoof funk apply every 1 to 2 days until resolved. Ensure you apply Hoof Beehave to a dry hoof. If hooves don't improve or you have concerns, consult your veterinarian.

To keep large cracks and crevices hygenic, we recommend applying Hoof Beehave in these every 2 to 5 days, depending on the severity and depth, until completely grown out. Your farrier or trimmer should be able to guide you on how long this will be required. If you have any concerns, consult your veterinarian.

Yes, but it's not made for sensitive areas such as muzzles.

Some customers have used it on the heels during muddy conditions to act as a barrier.

It seems these have tickled your fancy...
